Portable Folding Hammock

Here is a question for someone well traveled. My husband and i are looking to take a trip in October to some place tropical and those are our options. We are looking for a complete beach vacation, that means the water should be calm and warm enough to swim (we don’t care for pools all that much). Ideally, we are looking for just something breathtaking and simple. We just want to spend few days hanging in the hammocks on the beach. I’d appreciate your suggestions (please be as specific as you can about your locations). Thanks:)

I’m a fifteen year old girl and my bff is a fifteen year old boy. My best friend and I are really close and we definitely don’t have a problem touching each other. We hug a lot and he playfully touches my face, arms, hands and hair. We tell each other everything. Well we were on a school trip together for a month with some other people, and one night we were at dinner with the rest of my group, and he sat across from me. He grabbed my hand (above the table, not below) played with it for a minute, then brought it to his lips and kissed it softly. A little later, he took my hand again, rubbed it against his face, then brought it to his lips, held it there for a second, and then kissed it a couple of times gently. A couple of days later, we were in a place where there were two hammocks, but one was taken, so we laid down together on one of them and he put his arm around me. At a point in time I felt him rest his face against my head and kiss the top of my head gently. Then he moved his head slightly and I waited a minute, then took his hand and kissed it. He seemed fine with that. However, two weeks later, we stayed at a hotel on the beach and he disappeared from the group and I was really scared (because he’s attempted suicide before) but when he came back, he talked to me for a minute, and then I started crying. When he saw that I was crying, he hugged me for a second, then let go for a second to tell me he was sorry for scaring me but he really wanted to go to bed. I said okay and then he hugged me again, really tight. He hugged me for about 2 minutes. But after about one minute, I turned my head and kissed his cheek and I sensed a little surprise in him. However, he didn’t let go of me until a couple minutes later when I let go of him. After we let go, he said goodnight and I said "goodnight, I love you," and then he just nodded. Did he take the kiss and the "I love you" comment the wrong way? Should I refrain from kissing him and saying things like that from now on?

Note: we are not dating, nor are we in love. We’re like brother and sister and we kissed each other to show that we love each other as friends.

It’s my girlfriend and mine’s eight-month anniversary in a week and I wanted to write her a song and I hope she likes it. if she doesn’t, I’ll be pretty pissed to be honest. We don’t always get a long and sometimes i get really mad and I spit on her and stuff but besides all that, we have a nice relationship going. I want to know the pros and cons of eno hammocks and hammock bliss. Which is best?

Five sailors from a northern land are shipwrecked on an uninhabited island with
thousands of coconut palm trees. They have never seen coconuts before, but
quickly figure out that you can drink the milk and eat the meat inside. They also
figure out that the palm fronds can be used as a roof for their shelter and woven
into many useful items.
After several years on the island, one night as the sun is setting they see a light
on the horizon. It is a ship and they hope that in the morning the ship will arrive to
rescue them. They have spent many evenings sitting around fantasizing about how
rich they would be if they could bring these amazing coconuts back to their
homeland. They start going around in the dark and finding as many coconuts as
they can. They bring them down to the beach and make a pile of coconuts that they
will take with them when they are rescued. Exhausted and happy with their
coconut supply, they all go to bed.
As they lay in their hammocks each man becomes suspicious of the others and
starts to worry about whether they can trust them to share the coconuts fairly. One
of the men sneaks down to the beach and decides that he will take one fifth of the
coconuts and hide them away for himself. He counts out one fifth of the number of
coconuts that are there and takes them away into the woods. While this was
happening a monkey was sitting in a nearby tree watching. After the man went
away, the monkey climbed down and took a coconut from the pile for himself.
Shortly after the first man returned to bed, a second man had the same thoughts.
He sneaks down to the beach and decides that he also will take one fifth of the
coconuts and hide them away for himself. He counts out one fifth of the number of
coconuts that are still there and takes them away into the woods. The monkey was
still sitting in the tree watching. After the man went away the monkey climbed
down and took another coconut from the pile for himself. As you can imagine the
same thing happens with the third and fourth men. They each take one fifth of the
coconuts that they find, and each time the monkey comes down and takes one.
Finally the last of the five men comes to take his share. He looks at the pile which
has gotten much smaller and knows that he has been betrayed by the others. He
decides to take all of the coconuts that are left and take them away into the woods.

What was the smallest number of coconuts that could have been in the pile to start with?

because you are dealing with whole coconuts the number of can’t be fraction or decimals.

While reading one of my pregnancy and delivery books, I came across these hammocks that are used in labor and delivery to support the mama under the arms. The hammock (could be just a very long piece of fabric too) is hung in a loop from the ceiling and mama leans over the fabric with it tucked under her arms to allow support and weight to be taken off her feet when labor has progressed. Can be adjusted so mama is standing or kneeling. I am considering making one if I cannot find it but not sure how that will fly with the hospital!! Any idea where I could find one??

I will check with the hospital…That hadn’t occurred to me! This is birth #5 and I would have LOVED to have one of these with the others when I got to the exhaustion part I will be water birthing again too!

live anywhere in the world…. where would it be and what would you do ?

i would live in the suburbish areas of France right on the coast. I would have 6 dogs and hammocks in trees everywhere so i could read with no intense interruptions.. I would own my own private part of the beach and just lay there and listen to the waves… i would also own my own photography studio and dance studio. my neighbor would live like a mile away….. so i could blast music with my windows open at 4 in the morning if i’d like…. =]

i threw a party yesterday and invited my whole school. it was fun the party was amazing (its wasn’t a lame party it was like stuff u see in movies with no limit to the expenses!) i got tired from dancing and relaxed on one of the silk hammocks out side of the party looking out at the beach. (this isn’t my house or any house its a place to have parties at) then three of my friends came out: Justin, Oliver, and Mark. we have all been friends for 4 years now but here’s how it went: they all came out of the party and Oliver said "Victoria, we all need to talk to u about something." i sat up "okay, go ahead." oliver looked down and blushed. i knew something was wrong at that moment. they were all staring at each other expecting one of them to speak up. Justin finally looked me straight in the eye and said "we r all in love with u." i didn’t know wat to say so i just said quietly "oh…really?" now that i think about it i do like them but not love. so which one should i choose?
Justin: he has black hair, black eyes, hes tall and is asian. hes pretty serious and mature.
Oliver: brown hair, green eyes, and hes as short as me which is pretty short. hes crazy and will do any dare.
Mark: blonde hair, blue eyes, and hes taller than Oliver but shorter than Justin. hes perverted but he can be sweet at times and loves to pull pranks on other ppl.

i watched this cartoon about an elephant as a kid. cant remember whether it was episodes or a film, episodes i think.
in one episode he saves a whale from being stranded on a beach then he goes inside the whales belly and its all posh and theres hammocks and stuff.

I know Ferret Nations are said to be the best cages on the market for Ferrets, but recently a woman offered to sell me this one for 0

It stands 5′ also comes with a stand with rollers that makes it another 10" high.
It is new and includes hammocks and a lot of other accessories.
With probably some cage/ramp lining, does it look to be a good one?

She paid about 0 originally for the cage. She had bought it for her one ferret but it had died of adrenal disease shortly after.

Right now they are in a bedroom they are using but would like to get a cage too. Money is not an option really, since I expected to spend a lot when I took them in.

Hi, I’m thinking of buying a "free-standing hammock" for my son for his birthday. He wants to set it up between two trees nearby, but all the hammocks I see are all 13 feet long, and these trees are not exactly that size. Does anyone know if these hammocks are adjustable? (In other words, is there any way I can change the "length" of the hammock somehow?) He does not want the hammock stand. Any info. would be greatly apprecaited!! Thanks.

i have a large tank (will be getting a very large cage in a couple of days) and want to put up a hammock. any ideas as to how to hang one (or more) hammocks up?

It is my favorite place, because it is on promenade of Rimini and I love beach!
Here you can dance and listen to two different type of music…enjoy different styles of live music and cultures.
The location is subdivided into two parts…
The nearest the sea is a “street-bar” where house, dance, hip-hop, H&B musics are played and often there is dance performances and live concerts!
In the other part plays latin american music like salsa, merengue, bachata,…
You can dance and when you are tired you can sit on hammocks and sofas…and put your painful feet in sand…this palce is a small oasis…fantastic!

I love using the sewing machine and am pretty handy with it. I have some nice soft fleece and my new baby boys (2 rats) are arriving in 2 weeks! I really want to make them 1 or 2 hammocks or something to hang in the cage that is fun for them!! Does anyone have any links or directions on how to make your own? Do you recommend the Hennessy Hammocks?

I’m considering the Hennesy Expedition Asymmetrical Hammock.

I am looking to get one of those stuffed animal hammocks that hangs in the corner for my sons room. I found them at Target & Toys R Us but you can only order them online. Anyone know where I can buy one in a store (I really wanted it for this weekend since we just bought a house & I am tackling the job of putting together his room first plus I dont want to pay S&H charges!!)
