Which is more likely to break, a hammock strecthed tightly between a pair of trees or one that sags more when you sit on it?

The one that is stretched tightly would probably be more likely to break. The lack of tension would cause the rope to reach its breaking point sooner.

If the hammock is already stretched before you sit on it then it will break sooner then if it is not stretched when you sit on it.
