Which is better, back seat hammock for dog or the barrier in the back of SUV?

I have a SUV, and I was wondering if I should get the hammock for the back seats or if I should get the barrier for my dog. Not sure because the windows in the back of my SUV do not go down. If you could give me your suggestions, I’d greatly appreciate it.

If you are depending on it for your safety, in case of an accident, the barrier would be more likely to protect you from a flying dog.

Just for keeping the dogs from coming into the front seat, I don’t think there’s much difference. But, for the dogs’ safety, I don’t think either is enough — a harness that attaches to the seat belts is better.

I’m not sure why the windows matter — if you need them open a little bit as you drive, to keep air flowing, the dogs will still benefit from that if they’re in the back. And, of course, letting dogs hang their heads out of the windows is very dangerous, so I assume you’re not doing that.
