What sort of dreams do you write about?

Written Fantasies
by Koye Lott

Dreams should always have a view of the ocean…
A vast blue and green blanket of life
dancing joyfully under the glow of the moon
As you lay in a hammock swaying in time with
the waves that place gentle foam kisses on the shore…

Yes, dreams are made of the sea where writers
lay on a beach of paper while dipping pens
in the rich wells of ink….
Only to awaken on the shores of a written fantasy

I use the sea which is my ink to convey
a message on my paper beach
J.S.M which heaven knows is universal
    for "Jesus Save Me".
I look for the skies to rent as I build my Altar
of praise which is heaven sent
that the smoke of my despair should climb
and lodge between heaven and earth.
The best thing about writing near the sea
is that you can always count on a breeze
    to blow the smoke away.

I have to say i’m not usually into poems that talk about dreams, they have to have some amazing imagery that sets them apart from the pile of heavily cliched poems that are chucked on yahoo answers on the subject. But yours truly does. The imagery used is sublime and I really loved it, it was a work of art.

I give you 8/10 great nearing perfection!

Woah, i got to admit, as soon as i heard the word "dreams" i thought it was just going to be a plop of cliches and vagueness… but it’s really good, great imagery!

Your first stanza is a wonderful fantasy. You always write beautifully and romantically. Thank you, Koye. I enjoyed reading this.

    I think we were separated
    at birth !

    My beach of paper
has become a Korean side -
dish of crispy seaweed. It’s not
    Kimchi, but gentle foam
    does drip when I dip
    …. skinny
    …Formentera
    …. Ibiza
    (ooops… a dream)

That’s quite a dreamy poem there, Koye.
But while you lie there swaying in the hammock,
you should keep an eye out for Sir Hiram. For
he shore is interested in those foamy kisses.

    Happy Beach-combing to You, Koye.
My your good dreams become reality.
