I want to re-do my room an ocean/beach theme, but I am deciding on a bed. NEED YOUR OPINION!!!! THANKS!!!!?
My mom thinks my idea is stupid. BTW, I have a small room sort of, and I LOVE space. Right now I have no space….
mom’s idea- just keep your bed and dress it up (but I have no idea how to dress it up as a sea theme, any ideas?)
my idea – since its a beach theme, in a corner put a net hammock and put pillows, fancy covers, and cushions on it.
ANY IDEAS?????

have fun
That’s easy, get a water bed!!!
you could also try a fouton (sp?) so you could have a full sized bed, but also have space during the day when you fold it up, or even a daybed to keep things on the "lighter" side. i have a daybed. it doesnt take up much space and it looks really young and "beachy" i guess.
get a water bed he he. that would be cool!!
Get an eye hook with a ring and screw into the ceiling above your bed and just form a mosquito net around your bed and paint the whole room a sky blue, white ceiling. Theme sheets pillow cases and comforters. A fishing net with sea shells and starfish and a lighthouse border around the room. Oh, and the bed, keep what you got.
You can get those canopy’s that attach to your ceiling, like a canopy bed just without the posts. They come in all colors like white, tan, and tons more. Check ‘em out…I think you will like them. Try overstock.com :thats where I’ve seen them…
You can specify that to a Hawaiian theme or surfer theme. There are plenty of things you can get to hang on your walls. Check out Staples, they have a "surfboard" that is really a dry erase/magnet board, pretty colors and doesn’t take up space. Go to a Tommy Bahama’s, Bass Pro Shop, Ron Jon, or look at their websites to get some ideas. Also some larger Joann’s fabric stores, Hobby Lobby, Michael’s, all have little things you can get to hang from your ceiling or hang on the wall that are beach inspired.
You can get some old colored glass bottles to use as bookends on a shelf, along with conch shells that you can order on-line. Put a sign on the door that says "beach house" or "another day in paradise", "at the beach". I’ve seen little wooden surfboards and flipflops that have pegs to hang clothes. Your bedding or duvet cover can be Hawaiian print with the same print pillows. White picture frames on the walls that are sanded down a bit to look worn.
There are so many directions you can go in with a beach theme and it’s so much fun. Good luck!
pbteen has adorable things. i have an ocean/beached theme room and my comforteris from there. good luck!
A trundle bed is also called a captain’s bed. I guess they were fairly common in sailing vessels.

Oh, and you may want a small, decorative fishing net hanging from the ceiling in the corner with lures attached to it. I found lots of them on an e-bay page while searching the web.

Saw some great fish fabric at WalMart today. Could be used for a bedspread, cover some pillows, or gather several lengths of it on a rod and hang from the wall at ceiling height. Find or make some fish shaped pillows, use fish net for a dust ruffle on your bed, hang plastic fish on monofilament from the ceiling, at different lengths, get a fish lamp or lamp shade, look for wallpaper border that has a sea theme and put around your room at ceiling level, check with travel agencies to see if they have any travel posters that show beaches.
Go to a party store to find palm trees that you can hang, they come in a package but expand to about 5 feet, party stores have all sorts of decorations that are luau themed, including beach hats, grass skirts, etc. I know because I carry them.
Good luck!
you should get a bedding that goes along with the colors you have, or maybe you can get a floating platform bedhttp://www.platformbedshowroom.com/, but if you can get another bed and sort of want a hammock i recommend this website, so that you get some ideas…http://www.floatingbed.com/ ….have fun and Good Luck
depending on how much you wanna spend i have a link here for you to check out tons of ideas i personally love shell seeker matelasse coverlet i also love the surf girl bed the beach house strip bedding is also nice but it goes from lowest to highest in price
well good luck but personally i’d be wary of putting a hamock indoors (stability issues)
There are lots of things you can try. And a lot of ways to be creative, cost effective, and practical. Pick items that double as storage areas, etc. A section of fence painted white for a headboard, (you can hange your necklaces, hats, etc. here)light blue walls with a sunset or beach mural on one wall is nice. A lobster trap for a night stand also doubles as extra storage. And there are many types of strand lighting you can use. IKEA has a lot of great items and room layouts at a low cost. You can search there inventory online at http://www.IKEA.com Also check out http://www.orientaltrading.com for low cost themed items to use as accents to your room. This is a great site for a lot of low cost items and shipping charges a low as well. And look at investing in a fish tank if you don’t already have one. A colorful small tank adds the sound of running water and will give the room more appeal.
