how do I get A natural tan?

PLEASE READ!!!
This question is a bit different for me because
1. I’ve never been able to tan before
2. I have a family history of being EXTREMLY pale
3. I’m not interested in getting spray on tan or going to
a tanning salon at all if possible P.S.( I have a very sunny back yard with a hammock and I litteraly live two minutes from a beach)
4. I want to be safe and try not to get skin cancer
5. Thanx for reading!!!

uhm… lets see, lots of suncreen of course, then sit and bake in either your backyard in your hammock or at the beach for just a coupe hours each day for a couple weeks. =]

The only natural tan is one a person is born with. When a pale person gets a tan from the sun–it is damage!

Your ability to tan naturally is gene-coded within you. If you come from a family that has pale skin then the odds are already against you.

That said, you can get a temporary natural tan by:

-> spending time in the sun
-> applying sunscreen every few hours (SPF 30, anything higher is overkill)
-> keeping yourself hydrated both inside (drink WATER, no soda/beer) and outside (water. get in it.)

    Good luck.

I would recommend putting on sunblock with at least an SPF of 45 (this is really important-the sun if so bad for your skin especially if your sensitive to the rays), then the trick is after putting on the sunblock use a really good tanning oil and then lay out in your back yard. Don’t lay out too long that way you won’t get any sunburn.

just make sure you use a ton of sunscreen and reapply it reguarly. then go to the beach or somewhere sunny! and don’t stay out too long cause you’ll burn most likely….

There is really no way of " naturally " getting a tan without sitting in the sun. But if you get one of the self-tanners that take a week to build a tan, it looks way more natural.Since you have really pale skin, I recomend outting on the lotion every second day, and test it on a place that you can’t see. (like your butt or on your neck) If even skipping a day makes the "tan" look way to dark, mix the lotion with another body cream. Make sure you buy a body scrub too, so that you can make sure the stuff goes on even.

:) mabye you should wait untill the summer before you start using tan lotion, unless you’re going on a holiday or live in mexico……. lucky.
