brookstone rope hammock too low to ground?

January 20th, 2010 Leave a comment Go to comments

hey, i just got a hammock today from brookstone. I hung the hammock on the steel stand, like the directions said and i sat in it only to hit the ground… the directions said this is normal and that i had to keep on doing this until i was at a comfortable height. the only problem with this is that my hammock is now as tight as it can go on my stand and i am not that heavy and when i lay in it i am only a few inches from the ground, this is clearly not right, and rope hammocks stretch out rapidly, so… you see the problem here, … what to do?

Return the hammock. If you have adjusted it as tight as possible and it is still too low you should carry it back. The rope will continue to stretch with time.
