March 10th, 2010 1 comment

I’m looking for a commercial where they start with just the beach and the waves showing, then they zoom out showing 2 people on a hammock (the camera shows their back) and 2 beers/liquor in the center on a stool. then one person grabs the beer and drinks it.

does anyone know the commercial and what beer/liquor it is??

A good outdoors hiking/backpacking hammock?

March 7th, 2010 1 comment

I am planning this massive backpacking trip across america, most of which will be spent in a wilderness survival sort of thing. (To really test my bush craft skills.) I have a tent, but I only planned on using it in impending rain. So I thought a portable hammock would be a nice way to camp. The problem is that I hate going through google trying to find one… So if you could give me a link to a good one, preferably military style, that doesn’t have to steep a price, that would be great. Five stars to the one I decide to buy.

How capable is the average Air Force Officer in ground combat?

March 7th, 2010 4 comments

Alright, I always hear stuff about the "Chair Force" and how they have air conditioned tents, etc. Now personally, that just sounds smart. If you have the option then heck, why not take it? I understand their superiority in the air but let’s say an Air Force pilot was grounded. How would they fare on the ground compared to say a marine?

Are there any small resorts in Kauai?

March 5th, 2010 1 comment

I’m trying to find a small scale resort in Kauai on the beach, with good snorkeling at the resort. I don’t want to fight over hammocks and beach chairs. Just something small where I can lay on a hammock, read, and get some much needed R&R. Are there any small resorts (Not neck in neck resorts like Oahu) that are secluded and quiet where I can get away from it all? Maybe even a private lanai? I love the looks of Kona Villiage on the big island and would love to find something like that on Kauai. Any suggestions?

Can a hammock swing chair be attached to a child's swing set?

March 2nd, 2010 1 comment

Does anyone know if a hammock swing chair or just a padded swing chair can be attached to a child’s swing set? My son loves to swing but he has a very dificult time using a regular swing due to some motor delays. He needs something to support his back and he is already too big for an infant swing. Can this be done and is it safe? Thanks-

Hanging A Hammock Chair In A Dorm Room

February 28th, 2010 2 comments

I have a small single point suspension hammock chair. Right now it is hanging from the ceiling on my back porch. I would love to be able to bring this chair to school and have it in my dorm but stands are almost 200 dollars and that is not what i really want to spend my money on. I’m not allowed to damage my room in any way so i was wondering if anybody has solutions or suggestions for ways i can hang this chair up without a stand?

budget & for a friend’s birthday but also to celebrate my stepkids being here, so they are helping plan it (they are young and very creative, and love to help). We were going to do a Gilligan’s Island theme but that will run into more money and time, so now we’re just going for tropical.

Some ideas we have:

food on toothpicks, such as hotdogs or spam, pineapple, tropical fruit salad, cherry, mandarin orange, bananas

pineapple and coconut for decoration (real)

Set up a hammock, radio, old wrecked boat called the SS Minnow, and citronella tiki torches.

Grass skirt for the table she’s sitting at with the food

jimmy buffet, island/Carribean music, Somewhere Over the Rainbow – Iz, Marina Raye (for nighttime), Bob Marley

Fold napkins into boats, put spoons and forks inside

tropical air freshener party favors and a nice big tropical scented candle for the birthday girl

pineapple juice and pineapple flavored drinks along with usual soda and tea

Shish kabobs if we can get a grill

plastic chairs plus canvas chairs

Cover tent to make it look look like a hut

limbo contest

pineapples and coconut decoration

facepainting

Any other ideas? This is not in any particular order, just what I’ve whittled it down to, as time permits.
Okay, Brad, that actually relieves me…like which ones should I discard?
Great ideas, you’re getting me in the mood :D
Air fresheners and other cheap things at dollar tree.
The tent, blow up pool and tiki torches we already have for summer camping and needed to air it out and set it up anyway, we just might decorate it a bit.
We just don’t have any lights.
The kids are going to make the hammock from a sheet and the boat from cardboard or other items, and the napkin boats and other things won’t be expensive at all.
Great….so far, I am working on the music, the playlist, and some of the food. I have the kids making potato salad, and am getting ready to frost some cakes. I’m going to make one with a pineapple or banana-topped white frosting, since I don’t have time to do a banana cream pie.

Heyo~!
Sorry I haven’t been on in a while, my teacher has been dumping a lot of homework on us. But today… we got the day of because it rained really hard last night and it caused slight flooding! Yay! Thank you Mr. Weatherman XD

1. How much of your life involves anime/manga stuff?

Only a part, I mean I really love anime and manga but it’s just I have lots of other interests too. Like I have an obsession with rollercoasters. If i’m on a trip and I see like a theme park, I have to go ride all of the rollercoasters they have X3

2. What helps you think?

My family is very loud, so it’s hard to think. I go outside and lie down on our hammock (its very cozy XD)
While holding my lucky money (2 20’s folded into a tiny rectangle X3)
Very relaxing. XD

3. What’s the best flavor of lollipop?

It depends on what mood i’m in, If I’m happy, Cherry. If i’m sad, Butterscotch. :P
